There is a lot to consider when it comes to iron play. Besides practicing your shots and mastering your swing, you should consider your tools. Read on to discover some tips to improve and choose ladies’ golf iron to become a better golfer.

Choosing Irons

One thing to keep in mind is that ladies’ golf irons are not necessarily made any different from men’s golf irons. You can still purchase the same ones. However, as men are generally able to generate more power than women because of their bigger frame, you will need to choose your irons for your shots with care if you are a woman.

To determine what iron you should use, you need to know about the average distance for a woman when using each of the irons. So, let’s begin with the two most popular wedges, the Sand Wedge (SW) and the Pitching Wedge (PW). The latter will be found in the vast majority of iron sets. On average, 80 yards is the distance for a shot using a Sand Wedge while 90 yards is the distance for a shot using a Pitching Wedge.

After this, you have all of the irons from the 9 iron down to the 2 iron. The average distance for a 9 iron is 100 years, it’s then 110 yards for an 8 iron, 120 yards for a 7 iron, 130 yards for a 6 iron, and 140 yards for a 5 iron. In general, women hit the ball at a distance of 20 yards less than men, so this should give you an idea about the difference regarding iron choice. For example, while you will use a 6 iron for a 130-yard shot, a man will most likely choose an 8-iron. In regards to the smaller irons, i.e. the 4-iron, this is for 150 yards, but you may want to consider using a hybrid instead. 2 and 3 irons are not recommended, and a hybrid should be used in place.

Determining The Material Of The Shaft

One of the vital factors you need to consider when choosing ladies’ golf irons to improve your game is the material the shaft has been made from. You generally have three options to choose from when it comes to the material of the shaft; steel, graphite, and multi-material shafts. Let’s take a look at each one in further detail.

The most common shafs we have are steel shafts. Steel is heavier and stronger than other materials, and so it is more accurate and consistent because it creates less flex. Steel is also a popular choice because it offers a high level of durability and it is not expensive to purchase.

Graphite shafts are not as popular, yet there are still golfers that prefer their irons to have a graphite shaft because it gives them the ability to unlock more distance in their game, as they can increase swing speed due to the flexible and lightweight nature of this material. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that this comes at a trade-off of an inconsistent feel.

In addition, we have shafts that are made from different materials, i.e. graphite and steel are combined. These shafts are less common, and they usually feature a graphite tip with the vast majority being made from steel.

Self-Care

Recovery is another vital thing that you should keep in mind to improve your golf game, besides choosing your golf iron. Golf is a complex game that not only requires power and speed but also flexibility and accuracy which is why many pros improve overall health with chiropractic massage. This helps them stay healthy, recover and destress.

Chiropractic care for golfers helps align the nervous system back to how it needs to be. By adjusting your back, neck, hips, shoulders, and legs you can improve your golf game. At the same time, you can learn the best way to move your equipment, lift your bag, and others things to watch out for while playing. This type of self-care ensures that your body maximize its strength, speed, and flexibility without getting injured.

Now you know how to improve your golf game and choose ladies’ golf iron, you are on your way. Apply some of the tips described above to help you to master your iron play.
